iPhone 24×7

To-Go Shopping

by Matt Pippen on December 31st, 2007

US Patent Office LogoForbes Magazine has reported on a new patent application by Apple to allow On-The-Go ordering over the iPhone or other mobile device.

For an example, think of your favorite restaurant. You could walk in to it, sit down, and order on your iPhone with the press of a single button. In addition you would be notified on your iPhone when the order is ready. Talk about convenience!

The point of the patent is to fix the “annoying wait in a long queue if the purchaser arrives before completion of the order.”

The patent could also widen the relationship with Apple’s partner Starbucks. Right now, if you connect to the Internet via WiFi in a Starbucks you can have the ability to see the current song playing in Starbucks, as well as the last ten, and the ability to preview and download them that instant.
