Review: NetNewsWire for the iPhone

by J.T Dabbagian on July 14th, 2008

One thing I wanted more than anything on the iPhone was an RSS Reader. When I jailbroke my iTouch, I hoped for a decent feed reader, but the closest thing to what I wanted was Feeds. I eventually just used Newsgator’s online iPhone app for my RSS needs, but it lacked the one thing I wanted most: Saving locally.

What I couldn’t get from Feeds and from the Newsgator site, I got from the iPhone edition. NetNewsWire easily syncs to the Newsgator site, which updates my FeedDemon reader as well. Best part is, I could be anywhere and still have access to my favorite feeds! Not only that, but I’m not limited to my Google Reader, which I haven’t updated since I got FeedDemon.

Overall, I have to say that out of all of the apps on the iPhone, NetNewsWire reigns in as my favorite App for the iPhone. Best of all, it’s FREE.
